Sahana Bajpaie to be Honoured in the British House of Commons
RBN Web Desk: In a rare achievement, singer-songwriter Sahana Bajpaie will be honoured with the Bengal Pride Awards 2018, for her exemplary contribution to Rabindra Sangeet and folk music. This is the first year of the awards and will be handed over at a ceremony in the British House of Commons on 6 June.
The Bengal Pride Awards, according to its statute, will be given every year to Bengalis for notable contribution in their respective fields.
Other recipients this year includes senior journalist Prannoy Roy, Nobel laureate Amartya Sen, Scotland Yard counter-terrorism chief Neil Basu, and others.
Sahana recently lent her voice to the soundtrack of Soukarya Ghosal’s film Rainbow Jelly which won huge critical acclaim. She has been singing regularly in India, Bangladesh, Europe, and the US.
