Now a Double Swastika Mukherjee on the Cards

RBN Web Desk: Dupur Thakurpo, the hugely successful web-series on Bengali audio-visual digital content platform Hoichoi, is all set to return for the second season. And if what being heard is true, it’s double the fun this time for viewers.

According to sources, actress Swastika Mukherjee, who plays the protagonist Uma Boudi in the series, will be seen in a double role in the upcoming season. Besides Uma Boudi, she will be playing a Bhojpuri dancer, and the audience can surely expect some oomph moments.

The new season of Dupur Thakurpo is reportedly under production. The entire lead cast of the first season, including Abhijit Guha and Anindya Chatterjee, will return in the new season.

The story of Dupur Thakurpo revolves around a north Kolkata home, called Indralok, owned by the middle-aged Jibon Babu (Guha). He marries the young and vivacious Uma, and on her insistence, lets out the ground floor to six youths who are all strugglers in their respective professions. The young men are smitten by the charms of Uma who plays around with them like a fiddle.

The series is directed by Debaloy Bhattacharya.
