Now a Biopic on PC Sorcar Jr

RBN Web Desk: Director Soumik Sen is all set to make a biopic on legendary magician PC Sorcar Jr (Prodip Chandra Sorcar), and if things go according to plans, a frontline Bollywood actor is likely to be seen in the title role. Soumik had earlier written and directed Gulaab Gang (2014) and Badman (2016).

PC Sorcar Jr recently told the media that Soumik is their family friend and he likes the director’s work. Sorcar is convinced that Soumik will make the biopic well.

According to industry reports, the project in now in the scripting stage, which is expected to complete soon.

Many renowned directors from the southern film industry had earlier contacted Sorcar for the rights of his biopic. Offers came from Mumbai as well and Sorcar had rejected all of them.

The magician had earlier played the lead in the 1989 children’s film Gili Gili Ge. He played a double role of both the protagonist and the antagonist in the film. Gili Gili Ge, directed by Ishwar Chakraborty, had Santosh Dutta and Utpal Dutt in other major roles.
