Kabir Hindi Remake on the Cards?
RBN Web Desk: Director Aniket Chattopadhyay’s upcoming action thriller Kabir is all set to hit the theatres, and if industry sources are to be believed, a Hindi remake of the film is likely on the cards. Kabir has Dev, Rukmini Maitra, Priyanka Sarkar, and Shataf Figar in the lead. It has been bankrolled by Dev’s production company.
A source close to the production team told a leading English daily that director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury has reportedly expressed interest to acquire the Kabir Hindi remake rights. Aniruddha loved the film’s plot and has asked Dev for the rights, the daily quoted the source as having said, adding that another production house has also shown interest in this regard.
Aniruddha’s first and only Hindi film until now, Pink (2016), was a box office hit and won critical acclaim for the performances of Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu in the lead.
Kabir opens on 13 April.
