Hero Alom Jailed

RBN Web Desk: Ashraful Hossen Alom aka Hero Alom, the hugely popular independent Bangladeshi artiste who appears in several online music videos, has been jailed following a domestic assault case filed against him by his wife Sadia Begum Sumi. Alom had appealed for bail before a court in Bogra, Bangladesh.

Additional chief judicial magistrate Ahmed Shahriar Tarik turned down Alom’s bail petition yesterday and sent him to jail. Sumi had alleged that Alom tortured her for dowry. Her father Saiful Islam had lodged a written complaint with the police on 6 February in this regard.

However, Hero Alom himself had filed a complaint against Sumi, her father and three other persons. Alom alleged that they extorted money from him to build a house.

The police summoned both sides to reach an understanding. When the mediation failed, police recorded Saiful’s complaint and arrested Alom.
