Haami Official Trailer Highlights Major Contemporary Issue
RBN Web Desk: The Haami official trailer was released on the internet earlier today. While the narrative centres around the friendship of three children, it highlights a major issue of sexual abuse in schools. The film is directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee.
The director duo is known to come up with contemporary and socially relevant films and Haami is their latest example in this regard.
Several leading schools in India were recently rocked by alleged incidents of sexual abuse inside the campus. One such incident, while not directly connected, even involved a gruesome murder.
Danseuse Tanusree Shankar plays a school principal in the film. Churni Ganguly, Koneenica Banerjee, Aparajita Adhya, Debolina Dutta, Sujan Mukhopadhyay, and Kharaj Mukherjee play other important roles. Gargi Roy Choudhury and Shiboprosad reprise their roles as Mitali and Laltu respectively from the director duo’s 2014 family drama film Ramdhanu.
Haami releases on 11 May.
