Apur Sansar, the last film in the franchise, released in 1959.
Ditipriya currently plays the title role in the hugely popular Bengali TV serial Karunamoyee Rani Rashmoni.

Avijatrik will be based entirely on the concluding part of Aparajito written by Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay. The plot of the new film will take off from where Apur Sansar ended.
Aparna—Apu’s wife in Bibhutibhushan’s novel—was played by Sharmila Tagore in the 1959 film. Apur Sansar marked the big screen debut of Sharmila along with Soumitra Chatterjee in the title role.
