BFTCC Felicitates Soumitra, National Film Awardees
Kolkata: The Bengal Film & Television Chamber of Commerce (BFTCC) felicitated veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee and director Buddhadeb Dasgupta at a recent event held in the city. Winners of the 65th National Film Awards from West Bengal—actor Riddhi Sen, actor-director Kaushik Ganguly, and director Atanu Ghosh—also received felicitations.
That aside, renowned Bangladeshi actor Alamgir Hossain, and senior film journalist Shoma Chatterji were honoured by BFTCC.
The BFTCC organises the Bengal International Short Film Festival every year. This year, 54 short films from India and abroad were screened at the festival.
The surplus funds from the event will be utilised for children suffering from HIV-AIDS.
