Arpita Chatterjee in a Mother-Son Tale
Kolkata: Arpita Chatterjee, last seen on the Bengali screen in director Saibal Mitra’s Chitrokar (2016), is all set to return in a new film to be directed by Arjunn Dutta. The film, titled Abyakto, is likely to go on the floors later this month.
Abyakto has Adil Hussain, Anubhav Kanjilal, Anirban Ghosh, and Lily Chakravarty in key roles.
The film is about the mother-son relationship between Indra (Anubhav) and Sathi (Arpita). It narrates the journey of Indra from his adolescence to adulthood. A series of unexplained events make Indra the man he was never supposed to be. These events involve Indra’s father Kaushik (Anirban), Sathi, and his favourite uncle Rudra (Adil). Rudra happens to be Kaushik’s closest friend. The narrative passes through several time lapses and shows the turmoil in the lives of Indra and his family.
Samontak Maitra plays the young Indra in Abyakto.
Arjunn said, “My film is an attempt to explore love, loneliness, regret, sadness, and the search of one’s identity.”
