Veteran Actor Shashi Kapoor No More
RBN Web Desk: Veteran actor and producer Shashi Kapoor died today morning after a prolonged illness. He was 79.
One of the most successful actors in Hindi cinema, Shashi Kapoor started his career as a child actor in some of the plays directed by his father Prithviraj Kapoor. He became famous for his roles in Jab Jab Phool Khile (1965), Deewaar (1975), Junoon (1978), Namak Halaal (1982) and others.

Shashi Kapoor was suffering from several old-age ailments for several years. He underwent a bypass surgery and was hospitalised for chest infection in 2014.
Mohit Marwah, the actor’s nephew confirmed his demise on Twitter.

The third son of Prithviraj, Shashi Kapoor was born in Kolkata (then Calcutta) in 1938. He acted in more than 175 films, and was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2011. He also received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2015 for his outstanding contribution to cinema.
He is survived by his three children Sanjana, Kunal, and Karan Kapoor.
