Srijit’s Baishe Srabon to be made as a Web-Series

Kolkata: Director Srijit Mukherji’s film noir psychological thriller Baishe Srabon is all set to be made into a web-series. The film released in 2011 to widespread critical and popular acclaim. It had Prosenjit Chatterjee, Raima Sen, Abir Chatterjee, Goutam Ghose, Parambrata Chatterjee, and Rajesh Sharma as part of the lead cast.

Mahendra Soni, director of production house SVF that had bankrolled the film, told the media yesterday, “Baishe Srabon has always been close to our heart and we were contemplating for some time to make a web-series out of it.”

Made at a budget of around ₹1.45 crore, the film raked in approximately ₹3.5 crore in box office collections, according to conservative trade estimates.

The web-series will be made with an entirely new cast and will be streamed on the Hoichoi on-demand digital streaming platform.
