According to Bose, the film will see Soumitra in an all-out villainous role, which he has not done in recent times.

Bhaskar Banerjee, Supriyo Dutta, Dolon Roy, Haimanti Ganguly, Ranjan Bhattacharya, Akash, and Jinia play other key roles in the film.

Winged Tourists in My City

The Apur Sansar actor had played negative characters in many of his films. These include Tapan Sinha’s Jhinder Bandi (1961), Sukhen Das’ Pratisodh (1981), Satyajit Ray’s Ghare Baire (1984), and Victor Banerjee’s Agun (1988). All four films were major box office hits.

Bose said that his film is based on a true incident in Purulia. Soumitra plays Kader Mia who, stricken by poverty, is lured into the human trafficking racket. He rises in the ranks and becomes its chief. Kader has a pleasing personality, which helps him win over the villagers, Bose added.

Sudipa Back as Creative Head

The narrative of the film centres around Joyee (Haimanti) and Sandip (Akash). Joyee comes from an economically backward family and is in a relationship with Sandip. The latter is well established in his career. Joyee suddenly disappears one day sans any trace. Dolon Roy plays the police officer who investigates the case.
