Mimi Chakraborty Rewind 2009

RBN Web Desk: One of the busiest actresses in the Bengali film industry today, Mimi Chakraborty has a background in television. While it’s widely believed that she debuted on the small screen with Gaaner Oparey in 2010-11, the fact is, Mimi was first seen in the 2009 TV serial Champion which was broadcast on Aakash Aath. She played a major role in the serial that had Sudip Sarkar as the male lead. The female lead was played by Ayesha Bhattacharya.

Not only Mimi Chakraborty, Champion was the debut vehicle for several actors and actresses who have since cemented their place in Bengali television, including Raja Goswami and Sougata Bandyopadhyay.

Ayesha, who plays Mangala in the serial Rani Rashmoni, recently shared a photo which was taken in-between the shoot for Champion which reveals how Mimi looked back in 2009.

Mimi went on to play the lead in Gaaner Oparey which had Rituparno Ghosh as the creative director. Ayesha too was selected as the lead for Khona. Raja Goswami followed up Champion with the lead role in @Bhalobasa.com.
