Mayurakshi Bags Four Top Honours in Jio Filmfare Awards (East)

RBN Web Desk: Atanu Ghosh directed father-son relationship story, Mayurakshi, bagged four major honours at the Jio Filmfare Awards (East) 2018 held in Kolkata last night. The film had 11 nominations in various categories.

While Prosenjit Chatterjee won the award for the best actor in a leading role (male), Soumitra Chatterjee bagged the critics’ award for the same category. Atanu Ghosh won the critics’ award for the best director and Debojyoti Mishra was voted the best background music composer.

Mayurakshi tells an intensely emotional story of 84-year old Sushovan (Soumitra), who suffers from age-related neurological problems like cognitive dysfunction and dementia. His son, the middle-aged Aryanil (Prosenjit), settled in Chicago, comes to visit his father when he himself is passing through a unsettling phase in life.

Released in December 2017, the film is still running in several theatres in the city.
