High Court Denies Relief, Mimoh-Madalsa to Tie Knot

RBN Web Desk: The Bombay High Court, yesterday, rejected an appeal for interim relief from arrest, moved by veteran actress Yogeeta Bali and her son Mahaakshay (Mimoh) Chakraborty, against the charges of rape, cheating, and termination of pregnancy, brought by a Bhojpuri actress. A district court in Delhi, earlier, had asked the complainant to register a first information report (FIR) against Yogeeta and Mimoh, respectively the wife and son of three-time National Award winning actor Mithun Chakraborty.

The Delhi district court, in its order, observed that prima facie there are enough grounds to file an FIR against the mother-son duo.

Yogeeta and Mimoh, after the Delhi court order, had moved Bombay High Court seeking an interim relief/anticipatory bail from arrest, until such time they moved the Delhi High Court challenging the lower court order.

Justice Ajey Gadkari, however, dismissed their petition and denied to grant any interim relief.

Meanwhile, Mimoh is all set to tie the knot with actress Madalsa Sharma tomorrow as scheduled. Her mother Sheela Sharma told the media that the Mimoh-Madalsa wedding is ‘very much on.’ Sheela claimed that they are aware of Mimoh’s past acquaintance with the Bhojpuri actress. Mimoh, Sheela said, had filed a non-cognisable complaint against the Bhojpuri actress for creating trouble in the past. Why has the woman resurfaced now before the marriage, Sheela questioned, adding that they know the truth about the entire incident.

In her writ petition before the Delhi court, the Bhojpuri actress levelled charges of rape and cheating against Mimoh and Yogeeta. The woman alleged that she became pregnant because of a physical relationship with Mimoh and he gave her a medicine that caused the abortion. The complainant claimed that Mimoh’s mother had threatened her of serious consequences if the Bhojpuri actress continued the relationship with Mimoh. The actress, in her petition, said that she relocated to Delhi form Mumbai because of the continued threats from Mithun’s wife.
