Bhaichung Bhutia Biopic Likely, Leading Actor Approached
RBN Web Desk: Sports biopics seem to be the toast of the Hindi film industry these days. While actor-director Farhan Akhtar played legendary Indian athlete Milkha Singh in Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra’s 2013 film ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, Akshay Kumar played hockey coach Tapan Das in Reema Kagti’s ‘Gold’ (2018). That aside, a sports-drama film on the Indian cricket team’s 1983 world cup win and a biopic on Saina Nehwal with Parineeti Chopra in the lead, are also in the making.
Sources have now claimed that actor Tiger Shroff has been approached to play the lead in a biopic on former Indian football captain Bhaichung Bhutia. Anand Kumar, director of the 2013 film ‘Zilla Ghaziabad’, is supposed to helm the project. Tiger Shroff is a football fan and keen to do the role. The biopic, sources said, will reveal unknown facts about Bhaichung’s life and how he struggled to realise his dreams.
