Agomonir Obogahon Wins BFTCC Best Film Award

Kolkata: Agomonir Obogahon has won the best film award at the 2019 Bengal International Short Film Festival organised by the Bengal Film and Television Chamber of Commerce (BFTCC). The film is directed by Abhijit Roy and his team.

The story of Agomonir Obogahon centres around a father-daughter relationship. The father, a boatman, dreams to educate his daughter Uma. While he does realise his dream, Uma is married off after some time. The film highlights the fact that in today’s society, despite being educated, women are not allowed to voice their opinion in important decisions.

Rewind: 30 Years of Mile Sur Mera Tumhara

Abhijit plays the boatman in the film, while Gulshanara Khatun, Himika Patra, Priyanka Samadder and Surajit Maity play other important roles.

Agomonir Obogahon was shot on real locations in the Sundarbans.
