Sandip Ray Hopeful to Release Shonku on Time

RBN Web Desk: Director Sandip Ray is hopeful to release Professor Shonku O El Dorado on time. The film is based on the hugely popular fictional character Trilokeswar Shonku created by author-filmmaker Satyajit Ray. Veteran actor Dhritiman Chatterjee is playing the title role in the film.

Sandip told the media yesterday that they will leave for Manaus in Brazil on 16 February to complete the remaining part of the outdoor shot. Almost 60 percent of the film has been canned and the post-production work has already started since the project involves a lot of special effects.

The unit, in November, went to Manaus for an outdoor schedule but had to cut short the trip after Chatterjee fell ill.

Sandip informed that the actor has now fully recovered and has resumed working for the film. The Badshahi Angti director sounded hopeful about releasing the film around Christmas as planned.

Professor Shonku O El Dorado has been adapted from Nakurbabu O El Dorado, one of the most popular stories in the Shonku series. Subhasish Mukhopadhyay plays a major role in the film.
