Satyaki Bakshi to Hit the Screen Soon
RBN Web Desk: The audience is all set to see an older Byomkesh Bakshi in Debaloy Bhattacharya’s film Bidaay Byomkesh, the shooting for which is already underway. The film is not based on any of the Byomkesh stories written by novelist Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay, but is an original script developed by Bhattacharya.
Abir Chatterjee, who played Byomkesh in the films directed by Anjan Dutt and Arindam Sil, will reprise his role as the popular fictional detective. He will also play Byomkesh’s grandson Satyaki Bakshi, and the duo will crack a case.

Abir recently said in an interview that it was a challenge for him to slip into the role of an octogenarian Byomkesh. It took hours to perfect the prosthetic look of the older sleuth, before shooting could start for the day, he said.
