RBN Web Desk: Tenida aka Bhajahari Mukherjee, the legendary fictional character created by Narayan Gangopadhyay, is all set to return on the big screen. The film is expected to release next month.
Tenida appeared on the big screen for the first time in director Umanath Bhattacharya’s 1978 film Charmurti. Chinmoy Roy played the iconic character. The film had Satya Bandyopadhyay, Rabi Ghosh, Santosh Dutta, Kajal Gupta, and Shambhu Bhattacharya in major roles.
The next Tenida film released in 2012. Directed by Chinmoy, the self-named film had Subhasish Mukherjee in the lead. It was adapted from Charmurtir Abhijan.
Now, Subhasish will reprise his role as Tenida in the new film, adapted from Kambal Niruddesh. Rajsekhar Ganguly will don the director’s hat this time. The roles of Pyala, Habul, and Kyabla will be played by Rana Mitra, Raja Mitra, and Amit Banerjee. The rest of the cast includes Manoj Mitra, Dulal Lahiri, Falguni Sanyal, and others.
