Kolkata: City-based independent publishing house Speechbubble Entertainment (SBE), is all set to launch its new comics Rik-Ved at the International Kolkata Book Fair, which begins on 31 January. This will be a brand new series from SBE.
Co-founder of SBE Soumendu Das Munshi said, “After the super-success of Taranath Tantrik TnT, we were planning to come up with something new. Rik-Ved is an action-adventure series in Bengali and the first book will be officially released on the first day of the Kolkata Book Fair.”
Rik and Ved are two young investigators who probe crimes across India and even abroad.
“The series is an entirely in-house production. All persons involved in it are working for SBE in some way or the other,” Das Munshi said.
SBE has roped in Subhajit Ghosh as the creative director of the new series.
The first Rik-Ved story is titled Sesh Prohor. Each book of the series will have one complete story and will not stretch into parts.
The house plans to publish three Rik-Ved stories every year. The series will also be published in English later.
Pre-booking of Sesh Prohor has already started on the SBE website at a special introductory price.
