RBN Web Desk: Soumitra Chattopadhyay and Lily Chakravarty, last seen sharing frames in Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee’s 2017 film Posto, are back together on the big screen. They play an old couple in Tanmoy Roy’s film Sesh Chithi.
Lily Chakravarty plays Mamata Devi in the film while Soumitra has been cast as her husband Shibnath. Mamata is about to go to an old age home, when she reads out the last letter from Shibnath, and remembers the days they spent together. The couple’s daughter Mou left her abusive husband Ranen five years back. Shibnath suffered a cardiac arrest and died on the same day Mou returned to live with her parents. Ranen, now a successful businessman, comes back to sell off the ancestral property of his in-laws, send Mamata to a retirement home, and take Mou with him.
Ritobroto Bhattacharya, Dulal Lahiri, Moubani Sorcar, and Biswajit Chakraborty play other major roles in the film.
Music for the film is composed by D Sudhir.
