RBN Web Desk: Tollywood actress Sayantika Banerjee is conspicuously missing from action. Nothing much of her is heard these days. But according to some sources, the actress is busy reorganising her career, after she was unceremoniously dropped from a few projects of a leading production house.
Once a favourite of this production house, Sayantika was nowhere to be seen when they announced a slew of films to be released over the next three years. Her name didn’t feature in any of the films announced. She had only one film in 2017—Ami Je Ke Tomar—which was not really a hit.
Industry insiders say that Sayantika Banerjee is at the receiving end because of her fallout with Nusrat Jahan. The latter is at the pole position of the invisible hierarchical system in Tollywood, largely controlled by this production house. Nusrat’s growing closeness to one of the owners of the house has distanced the Bolo Dugga Maiki actress from the rest of the girl brigade, which they once famously called the Gulab Gang.
Last heard, Sayantika is busy with stage shows across West Bengal. An accomplished dancer, she has performed in more than 20 shows in the past one month.
She is likely to be seen in Srijit Mukherji’s upcoming film Uma which is slated to release this summer.
