London: Popular food blogger Sandhya Hariharan, at a recent event in the city, prepared an exclusive five-course meal that included her favourite traditional Diwali dishes but with special twists. She partnered with ASDA and the latter invited guests and prominent personalities to join in the pre-Diwali celebration.
The event was held at Layalina, a restaurant in the heart of Knightsbridge. The room was decorated with traditional diyas, fragrant candles, colourful lights and vibrant colours of marigold to forge a festive atmosphere.
Speaking about the menu, Sandhya said, “I am very excited to host this Diwali Party with ASDA. Right from deciding the menu to actually getting down to cooking, it has been a great adventure. Teaming with ASDA has been wonderful as all my ingredients are easily available at one store and there has been no running around to different locations to source ingredients. I’m thankful to each guest who took out time from their busy schedule to make this event a success.”

The guests enjoyed the Indian flavours and rejoiced the explosion of various tastes in their mouths, ranging from sweets to savoury treats. Appetizers included the traditional north Indian aloo tikki, a popular Indian street food snack, which had a twist of Ragda on the top and Tortilla Chaat made with an assortment of home-made chutneys.
The guests were pleasantly surprised to know that the entire Diwali menu was created with quality ingredients bought from ASDA, making it easily possible to recreate any of the dishes at home.
