I Have Perhaps Hurt Srijit the Most: Anjan Dutt

RBN Web Desk: Excerpts from the biography of Anjan Dutt found its way to a leading English daily today and some more parts from the supposedly controversial book was published online a few minutes ago. Industry insiders believe that the book—Anjanjatra—may rebalance industry equations once it is published.

Authored by Bangladeshi writer Sajjad Hossain, Anjanjatra contains some honest revelations from The Bong Connection director, who is also a prominent singer-songwriter in Bengal.

In one part of the book, Anjan Dutt has reportedly confessed to have hurt several people. Anjan says that he has perhaps hurt director Srijit Mukherji the most. But the actor-director goes on to add that he patched up things with Srijit by being a part of the latter’s cast in Ek Je Chhilo Raja and Uma.

Srijit was the assistant director and one of the songwriters in Anjan’s 2009 film Madly Bangali. The Autograph director also played a major role in Dutta Vs Dutta (2012). Anjan, in turn, had acted in Srijit’s 2015 film Nirbaak.

Things reportedly soured between the two when Anjan walked out of Srijit’s 2014 thriller Chotushkone. The role was later played by Chiranjeet Chakraborty and is often considered to be his best.
