RBN Web Desk: Actor-director Parambrata Chatterjee is likely to be seen in an upcoming Bangladeshi film, tentatively titled Shanibar Bikel. The film is being directed by well known Bangladeshi director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki.
The film is believed to be the first instalment of a planned trilogy and will have the issue of identity politics as the crux of its plot. Farooki has revealed that the story will begin with a deadly terror attack.
The filmmaker has also roped in Kolkata actress Parno Mittra to play a major role in Shanibar Bikel.
According to industry sources, Farooki has already planned the second film of the trilogy, and it may have Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead.
Farooqi’s last film was Doob: No Bed of Roses, was released in 2017, and won critical acclaim at major international festivals. The film had Irrfan Khan, Nusrat Imrose Tisha, Rokey Prachy, and Parno as part of the cast.
Meanwhile, Parambrata is awaiting the release of Prosit Roy’s film Pari, where he shares screen space with Anushka Sharm. The film opens tomorrow.
