RBN Web Desk: Directors Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy who are now busy in the post-production of their upcoming film Haami, has almost locked the cast for Kantho, a tale of cancer survival. Bangladeshi actress Jaya Ahsan was the first to be confirmed some days back, and now the rest of the lead cast has been zeroed on in.
Shiboprosad himself plays the role of radio jockey Arjun who is diagnosed with laryngectomy, while Jaya has been cast as the speech therapist who helps him battle and overcome the disease.
However, according to industry sources, Koel Mallick, who was supposed to play the role of Arjun’s wife, has now been replaced with Paoli Dam. Koel was earlier considered for the speech therapist’s role which Jaya is playing now.
Koel was last seen in director Kamaleshwar Mukherjee’s 2017 film Cockpit. She is also playing a major role in Mainak Bhaumik’s Ghare And Baire which has Jisshu Sengupta in a major role.
