RBN Web Desk: Social media and fan groups of Amitabh Bachchan, in the last 24 hours, went into a tizzy over a picture that was touted to be the Indian superstar’s look from his upcoming film Thugs of Hindostan. The film is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and has Aamir Khan in the lead alongside Amitabh.
However, it has now been revealed that the picture which is being widely shared and has since gone viral on the internet, was taken by independent photographer Steve McCurry back in January 2017.
Steve posted the photograph on his Instagram account and claimed that it was of an Afghan refugee in Pakistan named Shabuz. He clarified that the 68-year old man, like many Afghans, used only his first name.
While the authenticity of the photograph could not be ascertained, it’s for sure that this can’t be Amitabh’s ‘latest picture’ from the action-adventure film.
Die-hard Amitabh fans, after sharing the photo without verifying the source, went on to eulogise the actor regarding his commitment to work. While the actor’s dedication can’t be questioned, people have begun asking, why share a false picture to prove that he is more dedicated?
