RBN Web Desk: If everything goes according to plans, veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah is likely to play Tarini Khuro, in a Hindi adaptation of the popular series written by author-filmmaker Satyajit Ray. Actor-director Ananth Mahadevan is reportedly helming the project.
Ananth told the media at the recently concluded Cannes Film Festival that he is all set to adapt Golpo Boliye Tarini Khuro into a short film which will have its premiere at the French Riviera next year. The Dil Vil Pyar Vyar director has bagged the rights from the auteur’s son Sandip Ray.
Paresh Rawal, Tannishtha Chatterjee, and Revathi will play other major roles in the film.
Christened as The Storyteller, the film is expected to be canned in Ahmedabad and Kolkata, with some indoor scenes shot in Mumbai.
The adaptation will closely follow the original story, which has two surprises in the end, Ananth told a leading English daily.
Shooting of the film will start from June.
