RBN Web Desk: Veteran playback singer Mohammed Aziz passed away earlier today after suffering a massive cardiac arrest. He was 64. Aziz breathed his last at a hospital in Mumbai.
The singer’s daughter Sana Aziz told the media that they came to know about her father’s death at around 3pm. He was returning to Mumbai from Kolkata. He always had someone or the other as a travel companion. The family got a phone call informing that the singer was unwell. Aziz was suffering from a heart block and collapsed after arriving at the Mumbai airport. He was reportedly not feeling well at the time of boarding the flight. Aziz was doing a number of shows in and around Kolkata and in the northeast for the past several months.
Aziz rose to prominence in the early eighties. He was born at Ashoknagar near Kolkata and performed ghazals as a restaurant singer in the city. He was one of the most prolific singers of his generation and worked with all leading music directors in several blockbuster Hindi films.
