RBN Web Desk: Actress Meghna Naidu, whose last Bengali film was Coolie in 2004 opposite Mithun Chakraborty, will be seen in a new Indo-Bangla project alongside two popular Bangladeshi stars. Meghna has already started shooting for the film.
Titled Sitara, the film has Bangladeshi actors Fazlur Rahman Babu and Zahid Hassan as part of the cast. South Indian producer-director M Nassar and Bengali actress Raima Sen play the other pivotal characters in the film.
Sitara is about cross-border smuggling and Meghna plays a conduit. That aside, she is also shown involved in flesh trade and women trafficking.
The film is being directed by Ashish Roy.
Talking about her appearance in a Bengali film after almost 15 years, the actress said, the language is very sweet and she gave her nod the moment the offer was made.
Meghna Naidu attained instant stardom in the 2000 video of the song Kaliyon Ka Chaman. She went on to appear in several Hindi films that include Hawas (2004), Mashooka (2005), and Ishq Deewana (2012).
