London: The Diwali lights came to life at Trafalgar Square as actress Manisha Koirala joined the festivities along with the mayor of the city Sadiq Khan. Manisha, who has worked with all leading directors in India and is counted among the most popular actresses of her times, was greeted by a 60,000 strong crowd at the Square, adding a touch of glamour to the whole event.
Manisha, who recently played the role of legendary actress Nargis Dutt in Rajkumar Hirani’s film Sanju, was in London to promote her upcoming book on battling cancer. She is a motivational speaker and talks at various schools, hospitals, and organisations on how she overcame cancer.
The multiple award winning actress, through her battle with the dreaded disease, was synonymous with the Diwali celebrations that observes the triumph of light over darkness.
