Kolkata: Popular film actor Jisshu Sengupta has said that he would love to play Saurav Ganguly if ever a biopic is made on the former India captain. Jisshu is currently hosting a popular cricket show on a private Bengali TV channel.
Speaking on the sidelines of an event in the city yesterday, Jisshu said, he has known Ganguly since ages. Before going to England to represent India in 1996, he had bowled to Ganguly in the nets, he added.
The actor had represented Bengal in a number of state-level games at the sub-junior level. He was also the captain of a team in a celebrity cricket tournament involving actors and actresses from the Bengali film and television industry.
On the work front, Jisshu has two major Srijit Mukherji films—Uma and Ek Je Chhilo Raja—slated for release.
