RBN Web Desk: The classic tale of star-crossed love, Laila Majnu, is all set to return on the big screen albeit with a new adaptation. Producer Ekta Kapoor has joined hands with filmmaker Imtiaz Ali for a “recreated, re-imagined, and retold” story, she revealed on Twitter today. Imtiaz has co-written the script of the film which will be directed by his brother Sajid Ali.
She also revealed the film’s first look.
Imtiaz has also reportedly groomed a set of newcomers so that they can perform according to expectations. The Jab We Met director said that he was toying with the adaptation for long as he was fascinated with the timelessness of the story.

Ekta Kapoor is equally excited about the film. It has given her a great opportunity to work with Imtiaz, she said, adding that that Laila Majnu will also introduce new talent in the industry.
Imtiaz’s last film When Harry Met Sejal got a tepid response from the box office and the director is pinning high hopes on this film.
