Kolkata: Legendary composer SD Burman and one of the most popular playback singers of India, Kishore Kumar, are all set to reunite soon. And to make the reunion a perpetuity, they duo will have maverick musician RD Burman as company.
According to media reports, twin bust-sized statues of SD Burman and Kishore Kumar are slated to be installed in the city and will be inaugurated on 22 October. A music fan club has taken the initiative to install the statues. Kishore’s son—prominent playback singer Amit Kumar—and others will be present at the inauguration.
The fan club had earlier installed a statue of RD Burman at the Southern Avenue-Keyatala Road crossing. The statues of SD Burman and Kishore Kumar will come up opposite to that of RD Burman.
Amit Kumar, in a message, said that the Burmans and his father were deeply connected with the city. The statues, he said, will honour the music icons.
