RBN Web Desk: Big Boss Season 2 contestant Joey Debroy is likely to play the lead in an upcoming Bengali serial. This will be Joey’s first full-fledged role on TV. The actor had earlier made his Hindi film debut with the 2014 horror-thriller Mumbai 125 KM directed by Hemant Madhukar.
The former media professional, according to sources, will be seen in the lead in the serial to be broadcast on a private TV channel. The promo of the serial has already been canned. The serial is being directed by Snehasish Chakraborty, sources informed, adding that Roshni Tanwi Bhattacharya has been roped in to play the lead opposite Joey.
Snehasish had earlier directed popular serials like Bhojo Gobindo, Khokababu, Rakhi Bandhan, Baksho Bodol, and Jarowar Jhumko. Several leading TV stars like Shweta Bhattacharya, Trina Saha, and Rezwan Rabbani Sheikh had debuted in projects helmed by Snehasish.
Joey will also be seen in the role of an antagonist in director Pathikrit Basu’s upcoming film Fidaa. That aside, he played a major role in the Indo-Bangladesh coproduction Mone Rekho, directed by Wajed Ali Sumon.
