RBN Web Desk: It’s a déjà vu moment for director Srijit Mukherji. For the second time in less than four months, the official teaser of one of his upcoming films has become the second most watched video on YouTube in the relevant geographical regions.
The Ek Je Chhilo Raja official teaser was released online on 12 August and is already closing in on three lakh views.
Earlier on 30 April, the official trailer of Srijit’s last-released film Uma trended at the number two spot, the first for any Bengali language film ever. While the Uma trailer reached the position in a little more than two days, the official teaser of Ek Je Chhilo Raja did that in less than 24 hours.
Ek Je Chhilo Raja is inspired from the Bhawal case, where a possible imposter claiming to be the second prince of the estate, returns a decade after being presumed dead. Jisshu Sengupta plays Ramendra Narayan Roy, the prince, and also the person who returns to claim his share from the estate. Rajnandini Paul plays his queen Bibhabati Devi. The film has an ensemble cast that includes Anirban Bhattacharya, Rudranil Ghosh, and Jaya Ahsan in key roles.
Anjan Dutt and Aparna Sen play opponent lawyers in the film.
Ek Je Chhilo Raja opens on 12 October.
