RBN Web Desk: Ravi Shankar Alok, reportedly involved in co-writing the Shimit Amin-directed 2004 crime drama Ab Tak Chhappan, allegedly took his own life by jumping off the roof of the building where he lived. The incident happened around 2pm yesterday. Ravi was 32.
The writer, according to reports, was suffering from depression. No suicide note was recovered from his body.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Ravi was undergoing psychiatric treatment. Neighbours informed the media that Ravi rarely ventured out of his flat. They noticed his body lying on the ground and immediately called the police. The neighbours didn’t know much about Ravi except that he was some kind of artist. The security guard of the building said that the terrace is usually kept locked. He claimed to have no idea how the writer got access to the area.
Ab Tak Chhappan had Nana Patekar, Revathi, Mohan Agashe, and Nakul Vaid in lead roles. It was a major hit at the box office.
