23 June 2017

Kolkata: “Much like everything else, the internet has opened up a whole new world of opportunities and the future of radio is truly nested in the worldwide web,” said singer and music composer Surojit Chatterjee, on the sidelines of an event in the city today.

“Online radio is not confined by boundaries and listeners can tune in to any channel of their choice from any corner of the world,” he told RBN.

Speaking at the audio and trailer launch of Shankudeb Panda’s directorial debut Comrade, Surojit said, “This is probably the first time I scored the music for a political film.”

The film is about a farmer struggle to retain control over their land which the government wants to take over.

“But there’s no political content in the songs that have been sung beautifully by Akriti Kakkar, Nachiketa Chakraborty, and Shaan,” Surojit added.

“It’s always a pleasure to work with Surojit who is a powerhouse of talent,” Nachiketa said.
